Restoring Your Body’s Natural Defenses
Acupuncture balances your vital energy, or Qi, to treat acute and chronic health conditions without harmful side effects.
Acupuncture is integrative medicine that has been used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness for more than 2,000 years. According to this ancient philosophy, your vital energy, or Qi, flows through the body along pathways called meridians. Illness and disease occur when Qi is imbalanced. By carefully placing hair-thin needles at specific acu-points along your meridians, the acupuncturist can stimulate proper flow, restore balance, and help your body to heal itself.
What Does Acupuncture Treat?
Acupuncture relieves many symptoms, including:
Common Cold & Flu
Headache & Migraines
What to Expect During Your First Visit?
During your initial consultation, the acupuncturist will ask you about your health and lifestyle, as well as your symptoms. As part of your physical exam, she will also perform a tongue and pulse diagnosis. Using this information, the acupuncturist can effectively detect Qi imbalances and create a complete treatment plan that can include acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, and herbal remedies.
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin, making insertion very quick. Most patients experience deep relaxation.
